FAQ

Why this date and time of year?

By February, we are all getting tired of our cold and wet winters here in Oregon. Wouldn’t it be nice to leave everything behind and escape to warm and nice Caribbean, lay on sandy beaches, swim with dolphins or just explore places you haven’t been before. Yes, I know some of you have kids at school, and might have to excuse them a week for “educational studies outside the country”. Spring break would be so much more expensive to travel and more crowded as well.

Why Norwegian Cruise Line?

Norwegian Cruise Line offers FREE STYLE CRUISING.

What does that mean? You dine when you want, with whoever you want. No formal dining rooms with set times and strangers at your table. There are eight Dining options that are ALL INCLUDED in your cruise price PLUS eight Specialty restaurants that offer upscale dining experience that are either A La Carte or for service fee of $59 per person. All these options are exciting, since we all want to eat well on vacation.

There are no Formal Nights (dress up with suits and sequin dresses) that are mandatory on traditional Cruises – You don’t need to dress up at all, if you don’t want to.

Is cruising expensive?

Cost for our 7 day cruise is only $917 per person – that is only $131 PER DAY!!!

What does that include?

  • All food, except Specialty restaurants
  • FREE Open bar (package costing usually $109 per person per DAY),
  • Free Wi Fi
  • FREE Evening shows
  • FREE Night club
  • And other entertainment options on board

If you would ask yourself - how much would you pay PER DAY, staying in hotel, having at least 3 meals a day in restaurants, all your sodas, and ALL alcoholic drinks, paying for the evening shows and tickets for night clubs AND traveling from destination to destination? I thinks it’s pretty darn good deal!

IN ADDITON to your cruise price, I have included $205 pp for port charges, plus $152.50 for tipping for your Open bar drink package, plus $19.80 total tipping for your FREE two night dinners at the specialty restaurants

That is total of $1294 per person, two people in the room. We can have up to four family members in selected in balcony rooms.

Is this price good?

Our special group price is total of $1294* per person, two people in the room. We can have up to four family members in selected balcony rooms.

*You might find lower price for a Balcony on Norwegian Cruise Line advertising online BUT be aware – they don’t disclose total price with PORT CHARGES AND TAXES until the very end, and you would pay $1525 per person.

Do I get more perks?

  • In addition to the above, I have secured us discounted “Group price”.
  • Two FREE Specialty dining Dinners per person (normally you would pay A La Carte prices).
  • $50 off from NCL Shore excursions with NCL for ONE person in the room (that would be $150 savings).

Why do I need travel insurance?

Travelex Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Whether you plan to travel across the ocean or only across state lines, there’s always a chance your trip might not go according to plan. If you encounter a flight cancellation, baggage delay, medical emergency or more during your trip, travel insurance is here to help. Travel insurance can offer reimbursement for certain incurred travel costs, 24/7 travel, and emergency medical help if needed.

In short, travel insurance provides you, and your finances, a supportive safety net while you explore the amazing world around you.

Please call me for details and to enroll.

Why exactly this itinerary?

Yes, there are many options where to cruise. Caribbean offers more activities and exciting places than other warm destinations at this time of the year. We have THREE Ports to explore PLUS NCL Private Beach for a day. Please see NCL own sightseeing options HERE.

OR independent company - Shore Excursion Group: https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/

What is Harvest Caye?

It’s a private island, exclusive only for NCL guests, with long white sand beach, huge pool, bars and restaurant and lots of activities you might enjoy. Or just enjoy your cold drink and take a dip in warm ocean.

P.S. Your ship docks near the beach area, so you can just walk on and off the ship as you please. Food and drinks are not included at Harvest Caye.

See more https://www.ncl.com/harvest-caye.

What are the additional expenses?

  • Tipping for your ship crew $140 total per person for 7 days. That is only $20 per day to tip your room steward, who makes sure your room is nice and clean twice a day, your waiter staff in the restaurants, who cater any of your special requests and all other people who service you on board. You don’t need to take any cash with you for this tipping. $140 pp will be charged on your on board account at the end of your cruise.
  • Your flights. I would recommend to arrive to New Orleans a day early, in case there are any flight cancellation at this time of the year – you don’t want to miss your ship. Personally, I would like to spend couple of days to explore this fun city. Some of you might have FF points to get free flights or you can purchase your flights on line.

What are the additional expenses?

  • Hotel
  • Transportation to/from airport-hotel-ship. Uber is the easiest, about 20 min ride.
  • Your sightseeing tours in ports. If you don’t want any organized sightseeing, you can take a taxi at the pier and wonder around on your own. Just make sure you will be back on board on time!
  • Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Is this cruise for the families?

Yes, it’s multigeneration cruise experience. There is something to do for everyone! Please click HERE for on board activities.

Lots of organized kids activities for the little ones as well as for teens.

Will I get seasick?

It is very rare that you get seasick on large ships. Most of the time, you will not even realize that the ship is moving. The beauty of the cruising is that the captain will steer clear of rough seas to get you the best experience, and the big ships have stabilizers to keep the ship from rocking.

A mid-ship stateroom with a balcony for quick access to fresh air may be ideal. The sooner you book, the better options I have to get you a right mid-ship room. If needed, there are also medications, patches and wristbands available onboard to prevent any seasickness.
